Job Description

Job Summary

NPD engineer perform required work for the projects, works closely with QE, ME and other departments to get the assigned work done accurately and on time

Responsibilties

  • Follow up projects from design to mass production release.
  • Follow up competitive benchmarking and feasibility study.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm component specification, target cost and lead-time.
  • Follow up hand made samples and rapid prototyping.
  • Prepare 3D layout for ID to precede conceptual design.
  • Prepare 3D part drawing and detail 2D drawing, subassembly drawing, exploded view.  Performing dimensioning and tolerance calculations. Capable to apply geometric tolerance dimensioning.
  • Initiate documentation like BOM, ECO and SER.
  • Follow up tool plan, mold and die debugging. Evaluate the new part according to the drawing.
  • Coordinate with PMC and purchasing to organize EB, pilot run.
  • Follow up reliability testing with QA laboratory.
  • Follow up safety approval with laboratory.
  • Keep product file as most updated.
  • Follow up continuous product improvement actions

Job Requirement

Requiments  

Academic: University Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or other related Engineering discipline or equivalent

Years of experience

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in project follow up in the engineering industry. Working in power tools field is an advantage.
  • Experience in Plastic Molding & Metal operations;
  • Experience in Gearbox system & Motor structure is an advantage

Special knowledge

  • Good computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, email communication, 2D and 3D CAD.
  • Familiar with UG or Pro-E.
  • Familiar with application for safety approval such as UL, CSA, CE, BS, SAA

Other Skills

  • Good level of written English, with CET-4 or above is an advantage.
  • Good communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
