Job Description

Position summary:

The Value Engineering manager will drive the value engineering program to meet the financial targets set for the program as well as be responsible for the development of the project funnel and the execution of the prioritized projects; identify, generate productivity ideas, and collaborate with the different departments in achieving the productivity targets of the plants.

Key responsibilities:

  • Would be responsible for developing, managing, and executing on a Value engineering projects
  • Partners with respective stakeholders Factory and localization groups to identify and generate productivity ideas and collaborate with the cross functional teams.
  • Analyzing the cost structures of projects, including evaluation of individual components, taking account of benchmarking methods for identifying opportunities
  • Assigning VE Engineers to projects.
  • Workshops (preparing for events, moderating team meetings, subsequently producing the necessary documents) and follow-up events
  • Driving forward the Value Engineering Process (with technology partners and suppliers) within the company (tracking agreements made within the team with the aid of project management tools and complying with targets set by Management)
  • Managing and administering the necessary documents and reports regarding the sustainability and traceability of agreed modifications

Applies understanding of the business and how own area integrates with others to achieve departmental objectives

Job Requirement

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical or related field.
  • Experience of procurement (purchasing or supplier development) required
  • Strong leadership skills with having managed 4+ direct reports.
  • Minimum of 5 years related working experiences in VA/VE, Value Methodology roles, Projects Transfers, Localizations, Product Cost Management.
  • Proven professional experience in the field of value engineering or Six Sigma 
  • Excellent English 
  • Foreign experience is preferable
  • Master of Science Degree is a plus
  • Strong analytical, project and product management skills.
