Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Quality Engineer provides quality engineering services to cross-functional project teams, including New Product Development, Product Support, and Value Engineering. A Project Leader leads project team members, including Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing. The primary duties are to lead and direct the quality activities of project teams to successfully meet Project Quality Objectives and project goals, including Time-To-Market, Cost, and Performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

1. Reliability Functions – New Product Development:
•  Develop and execute test procedures to validate product specifications and ensure Quality and Reliability readiness.
•  Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) during the product development cycle.
•  Proactively seek out quality improvements for new and existing products.
2. Quality Functions - New Product Development:
•  Work with the global quality teams to develop QC mitigation strategies for high-risk specifications.
•  Coordinate quality planning activities such as auditing, inspection, and control plans (incoming, in-process, and outgoing) that drive user-need CTQ requirements through product specifications and into manufacturing processes.
•  Collaborate with U.S. and Asian-based manufacturing and supplier representatives to ensure operational readiness of new product launches.
•  Able to call, lead, and conduct global, cross-functional team members with the following participants: New Product Development engineering, internal/external operations/suppliers, quality, and supply chain.
•  Develop robust systems and define standard operating procedures.
3. Quality Functions – Systems & Process:
•  Utilize Microsoft 365 and PowerBI reporting for Visual MDI and/or Develop QDA system to show metrics such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), visual MDI, and OEE.
•  Design and run DOE to gain a deeper understanding of all manufacturing processes and design parameters, including Slitting, Heat Treatment, Spring Forming, Painting, Lacquering, Extrusion, Printing, Spool Sub-Assembly, Tape Measure Assembly, Levels Assembly, Milling, etc.
4. Quality Functions – Metrology:
•  Work with Milwaukee Corporate Metrology teams to develop in-house metrology standard operating procedures and implement best practices
•  Redefine MSOP (Measuring Standard Operating Procedure) and DMP (Dimensional Measurement Plan) to be utilized at both suppliers and in-house manufacturing in VN
•  Gain knowledge of GD&T, CMM Programming, and Calypso 2023 to teach and support the VN HT Metrology Lab and PT Metrology Lab.

•         Develop robust systems and define standard operating procedures.

Job Requirement

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor's Engineering of University in Metallurgical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience

At least 3 years in Quality field in an Sr. Engineer position, with working experience in metal, plastic and electronic products as well as manufacturing process quality management

Knowledge:

 -      Familiar with Six Sigma, ISO 9001, Quality methods and tools such as FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, DOE, 8D, AQL Sampling etc.
-       Knowing in GD&T and mechanical drawing 2D, 3D

Functional Skills

-       Strong skills in problem analysis and solving.
-       Good English, written and spoken.
-       Good team player with positive approach
-       Good communication, listening and interpersonal skills

Other Abilities

 -   Able to work effectively without direct supervision
-    Able to work under high pressure and handle multi tasks in same time
