Job Description

Drives and owns all quality aspects of products produced on all Suppliers or Manufacturers. Reviews and participates in all areas concerning Quality while working cross functionally with internal and external teams. Oversee supplier production, qualification and ongoing testing and inspection to ensure product quality leading suppliers to TTI’s “Built-In-Quality” program. Manage activities promoting design for manufacturing and quality. Manage the development of quality plans, procedures and process controls on manufacturers/suppliers to achieve the most effective-efficient method to minimize cost of quality and ensuring 100% Safe, Good, and Reliable products are shipped to the markets. Manage development of manufacturers and suppliers’ Quality Team to be top-notch managing quality of TTI products. Promote Good Manufacturing Practice into supplier/manufacturer’s production line. Manage product and process continuous improvement.

• Managing development of Product Process Quality Control Plan with suppliers or manufacturers and ensure that they are up to date based on latest Product Specification and market requirements.

• Champion in promoting Built-in-Quality program to all suppliers/manufacturers.

• Drive Advance Quality Planning requirements with supplier quality engineers working with project/engineering teams and suppliers / manufacturers for new product introductions to promote design for quality and manufacturing discipline.

• Manage and control the implementation of product specification and market requirements into suppliers’ or manufacturers’ process.

• Participate in OEM’s PFMEA’s • Drive OEM’s in Visual factory; including MDI / KPI boards, and 5S

• Review customer returns data and implement corrective action as required • Evaluate and provide technical support in developing supplier process controls and inspection standards e.g. test equipment, gauges, inspection fixtures, poke yoke fixtures, cooling (process) fixtures

• Manage Supplier Change Request process between Supplier and TTI Engineering.

• Manage SPC and process capability studies (Cpk) on critical processes at supplier.

• Taking lead role in all communications with external stakeholders to ensure complete and accurate information is received.

• Manage Corrective and Preventive Action Process concerning quality issues from suppliers’ critical T2 suppliers, T1 manufacturing process, Reliability Issues or customer/market complaints.
• Drive improvements with engineering or project team regarding product design and tooling to ensure effective methods of production.

• Drive solutions on engineering design changes that would improve supplier / manufacturer’s capability, yield, productivity and capacity.

• Manage Inspection and Testing o Ensure Inspectors adhere to Inspector’s Standard Work, and adhere to the sampling rates agreed between TTI and OEM o Evaluate and shore up OEM’s Inspector training and qualification program o Assure test and inspection equipment is acceptable; including Gage R&R and Red and Green standards o Evaluate ABR / Reliability testing results, implement corrective actions as required

• Participate in VE programs by guiding supplier to prepare AQP requirements and preparing validations for quality feasibility.

• Take lead in Quality Improvement Programs

• Prepare audit reports, technical reports, and Corrective / Preventive Action as per requested by their superior.

• Manage annual supplier development strategy and planning

• Diligently support superior on any ad hoc assignments and delegation  

Job Requirement

  • ​ Bachelor’s degree in related field (Engineering, Quality and manufacturing). Six sigma green/black belt experiences and/or ASQ certifications a plus
  •  Minimum 8 years Product Quality experience in Home Appliance products with sound knowledge in Mechanical and / or Electrical engineering

• Good communication skills in English (Chinese is a plus).

• High integrity. Dependable. Resilient, Team Player, Extrovert, Proactive, Good sense of responsibility and positive thinking. Strong interpersonal skills.

• Knowledgeable in Basic and Advance Quality tools. Knowledgeable in Product safety regulations is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective presentation skills, one-on-one communication, technical writing and report writing.

• PC skills required (Word, Excel, Power Point & etc.) 

Functional Competencies (FC) required:

• Working knowledge and interest in Six Sigma quality tools

• Quality & Production knowledge –IATF, ISO9000/14000, QC080000, SQC, SPC, CPK Studies, GRR, MSA

• Creative yet practical and structured in problem solving, analytical skills and decision making – Pareto, 8D, 5 WHYS, Fishbone, DOE

• Preventive and Detection Management Skills – DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP

• Experienced in Visual Factory and Lean; KanBan, One Piece Flow, Poka-Yoke, 5S, MDI & KPI

• Knowledgeable on manufacturing role in consumer products arena, preferably mass retail environment.

• Experience in product design and development, shop floor assembly, process design and control, documentation and data control, root cause analysis and corrective action development, and project management.

• Knowledgeable in handling measuring tools and equipment both  mechanical and electrical

Experience in product testing, with demonstrated ability to interpret test results and translate those results into actionable tasks

• Experience working with Asian OEM’s, component suppliers, and suppliers of finished goods to ensure quality.

• Experience in continuous improvement, with demonstrated ability to facilitate cross functional quality teams.

• Customer Quality Management Leadership Competencies (LC) required:

• Highly professional with proper ethics in handling suppliers/manufacturers.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills giving directives to suppliers/manufacturers

• Team motivator. Good people and coaching skills inspiring suppliers/manufacturers to have Win-Win mentality.

• Hhigh energy individual with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with indirect and direct consumers.

• Organized with ability to manage time on multiple projects

• Ability to construct, lead, and carry out containment and contingency plans.
